Lights Out: Waldeck Named Pitcher of the Week
For the second consecutive week, a returning Forester has been named the Pitcher of the Week by the Santa Barbara coaching staff. After finishing up his season at St. Mary’s College, which saw the Gaels upset #1 overall seed UCLA twice in their regional, Noah Waldeck has been electric for the ‘Sters. After pitching a strong inning in relief in Tuesday’s win @ Conejo, he played a key part in Friday’s win in Pasadena. Waldeck was the only pitcher on either squad to not surrender a run in a game that saw 22 scored, throwing three shutout innings and picking up his first win on the season.
Throughout the season, Waldeck has appeared in four games, throwing seven innings without an earned run and holding a WHIP under 1.00.
On the other side of the ball, Brady Janusek was named Player of the Week for Santa Barbara.
The Foresters play six consecutive games at Eddie Mathews Field this week, with the MLB Academy Barons up first on the docket.
